Shake Off the Swimsuit Blues

It’s that time of the year again! You know what I am talking about don’t you? It’s summertime and that means it is beach and swimsuit time! For some women, this is a great time of the year, however, for others; it’s a time of dread. For those women who dread this time of the year and may have thoughts such as “Did I work out enough over the last few months to look and feel great in my swimsuit? Have I gained too much weight and need another swimsuit? Will others stare at my body? Exhale and let it go! Yes, exhale and get rid of the summer swimsuit blues!

Summertime isn’t the time to focus on having the perfect body, besides the perfect body doesn’t exist during any time of the year. This time of the year is about embracing your body and enjoying the time available to spend with your friends and loved one at the beach. Sure, I am all about being healthy; therefore allow me to provide you with five tips to look and feel amazing this summer!

1). Color Please: Find a color that you feel absolutely amazing in. Make sure your swimsuit has this color in and throughout it. In order to jazz up your swimsuit, put your hair in a flirty style and add a colorful flower to your hair.

2). Just Move: The warm weather makes it easier to head outside for a nice walk or run. Therefore in order to feel great about your body, do something great for your body, by committing to exercising at least 30 minutes five days per week. You can break these sessions into two 15-minute sessions.

3). Hydrate Please: Hot weather means increased sweating, therefore ensure you’re drinking water throughout the day. This will help regulate your body temperature and help shed toxins from your body that can make you look and feel bloated. You can stay hydrated also by eating fruits and vegetables such as celery and grapes that are mainly water.

4). Say something Nice: You may not like everything about your body but find at least two things you love about your body in your swimsuit. When you say nice things about yourself to yourself, others will notice!

5). Embrace Your Body: Your body is just as unique as your thumbprint therefore that makes you one of a kind. Therefore stop comparing your body to other women! You’re amazing all by yourself!

Summertime has a way of bringing focus to bodily imperfections if and only if you allow yourself to focus on what you don’t like about your body. Therefore make this summer different from all the rest. This summer I encourage you to walk confidently on the beach feeling great about yourself realizing you’re worth the time, energy and resources to stay healthy and confident not just for the summer but every day!
